Genre: Paranormal Romance
About The Red Lily:When Red falls for the Big Bad Wolf… The Black Lily resistance needs a larger army if they are to defeat the vampire monarchy. In order to do so, former lieutenant and traitor to the vampire Crown, Nikolai must seek help from the red-hooded temptress he needs to avoid at all costs. The secret he carries could prove dangerous for her if she gets too close…even though keeping her close—very close—is the only thing on his mind. Sienna will do anything for the Black Lily, and when Nikolai asks for her assistance to gain the trust of the commonwealth, it’s the last thing she wants to do. The thought of leaving her woods and her wolves behind is terrifying…not to mention the danger being with Nikolai poses.
When Sienna is called upon by Arabelle to help recruit members for the Black Lily’s army, she won’t hesitate to help. Despite her fear of leaving the woods and the hart wolves behind, she’ll trust Nikolai, the Crown’s former lieutenant, to keep her protected while they travel north for their mission. The small flaw in the plan is the intense attraction between the two of them.
This second installment of the series is a nice take on Little Red Riding Hood and, once again, I found myself totally in love with the vampire world Ms. Cross has created. I couldn’t get enough of the evil machinations from the inhabitants of the Glass Tower and how far their clutches extend while trying to grow the vampire army and bring back the dark days.
In the midst of the chaos, Nikolai will watch closely over Sienna and will try to protect her above all. Their love will blossom and they’ll fight to overcome the greatest adversities.
As with the previous book, I found myself immersed in the world of the Black Lily and enjoyed the adventures our heroes find themselves in. The story flows nicely and will not disappoint. My one complaint is that I found some things a little too contemporary and, IMO, it took a little from the story, but other than that, it was a nice read and I can’t wait to find out what’s to follow.
