Review: Unsuitable by Samantha Towle

From New York Times bestselling author, Samantha Towle, comes a new sexy, romantic suspense standalonenovel...
Daisy Smith has spent eighteen months of her life paying for a crime she didn’t commit. Now out of prison, she has only one focus—to get back custody of her younger brother, Jesse, who is deep in the foster care system. Desperate to rebuild her life and show the system that she is responsible enough to care for Jesse, she takes on the only job available to her—working as a maid at the Matis Estate.

On day one of her new job, Daisy meets Kastor Matis, the only son of the owners and her new boss. An enigmatic, handsome Greek god of a man, Kas is closed off, cold, and…well, kind of a bastard.

The more time Daisy spends around Kas, she starts to see there might be more to him than just his coldbastardways. He may actually have a heart beating in that frozen chest of his.

But Kas has secrets, too. Secrets that he’s determined to keep.

Secrets make Daisy curious.

And you know what curiosity can do…

This book was definitely not what I expected from this author at ALL! Daisy has spent the last 18 months in jail for a crime she didn't commit. She's trying to reclaim her life and get guardianship of her younger brother, Jesse. She gets a job working as a maid. The owner of the estate Kas is a brooding arsehole. They don't get along at all in the beginning and eventually they form a relationship. Their relationship isn't typical and they both have a lot of trust issues. Daisy was burned by her ex, Jason and Kas was dealing with his own demons. All I have to say was when that bomb was dropped about Kas and his demons I was like OMG!!! I didn't see that coming at ALL!!!! I don't blame Kas and I felt that he needed to do this in order for him to heal. Sometimes you have to take the bull by the horn and get things done. The author surprised me big time by going in this direction. This book was very different and suspenseful what I have previously read from her. The only slight issue I had was the ending of the book. I wish we had more time with Kas and Daisy before we got the epilogue. Despite the ending this book definitely helped with the slight reading slump I was having!

Book Tour: Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan

Blurb
He told me to 'settle, girl.'  He asked if 'something was wrong with me?'  He said I was an ‘easy target.’  That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.  I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.
He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.
Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.
I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?
This is a story about a girl, her stepbrother and another guy who is the stepbrother’s complete opposite.  If it sounds like a cliché, I promise you it’s not.Summer is starting college and she’s going to the same college as Kevin, her stepbrother.  The small detail here? She’s had a crush on Kevin since HS, since before he became her stepbrot…

Blurb: Finding my best friend and getting the hell out of California is top priority. Especially as the relationship with my rockstar stepbrother becomes more complicated with each passing day...

I’m on the tour bus partying!

The text from my best friend, Ivy, is one of her last. When weeks stretch with no further contact, I travel to L.A. to track down the band known as Rageon and find Ivy.

As the daughter of a groupie mom, and of a rock star father who fatally overdosed, I know the dangers of the world my friend disappeared into.

My ex-stepbrother, Gage, a musician who’s just come off tour invites me to crash at his place.

The last time I saw Gage in person, we were teens. He's everywhere on social media, so I’m prepared for the tattoo-covered rocker who answers my knock. What I’m not expecting to find is the sweet, s…
