Spin-Off of Navy SEAL Midnight Delta Series

This is what you need to know.
I keep the people around me safe,
And sometimes I rain vengeance on my enemies.
It's who I am, and what I do.
As a former Army Ranger, I get the job done.
After an unforgivable betrayal by one of my own,
I created the Shadow Alliance.
We handle the dark and dangerous work,
Jobs that governments won't.

And now, the sexy, smart, and feisty Allison Davies needs my help.
As an FBI Agent, enlisting my help could cost her job.
But, I'm her only hope.
There's only one problem.
Our mutual desire just might get in the way.
One misstep and we become the hunted.
A price I just might be willing to pay.

Excerpt #1

She pressed her lips to mine.  Soft and gentle.  I reciprocated.  Loving the feel.  I wanted—needed—to give her comfort.  But then she changed the pressure.  Her movements became urgent.
“Baby,” I tried to caution her.
“Declan, I need you.  I need this.”
I’d take her to bed and just hold her.  She needed comfort.  Then, as if she could read my mind…
“Declan, I’ve known you were special since I read your file.  I’ve wanted you since I saw you searching for Anna.  I’ve needed you since you convinced me I’m beautiful in your eyes.”
“Oh, Allie, you’re the one who’s the diamond.  I see all of your facets, all of your depths, and you shine, baby.  You shine.”  Her eyes lit up at my words, and I was so happy I’d found the right ones.  I eased her off my lap and stood up.  The hungry look in her eyes almost brought me to my knees.  Before she started to stand, I whisked her into my arms, and her eyes melted.  Good, I wanted her to feel as special as she was.
I headed to the bedroom I’d recently vacated.  As soon as I got her to the room, I let her slide down my body.  Since I was just wearing my boxers, there was no doubt how I was feeling.  But I needed to be sure this was truly what she wanted.  After I turned on the bedside light I found her sitting on the bed.  I knelt in front of her.
“Allie, are you sure?”
“Aren’t you?”
I looked at my dick and then back up at her.  She laughed.
“I really want this too,” she whispered.
“Then you might be wearing a few too many clothes,” I whispered back.  Leaning forward, I captured her mouth for a kiss.  Her lips parted and I unbuttoned her blouse.  Slowly, I drew the cotton sleeves down her shoulders, touching the silk of her skin as I went.  She gasped as I traced the curves of her breasts above the cups of her bra.  I broke away from her lips.
“God, look at you.”  I unclasped the front enclosure and her breasts spilled into my hands.  I thumbed her pink nipples and she moaned, and pressed hard into my hands.  She liked it when I plucked and pinched the tips of her breasts.
“Declan, that feels so good.”
I dipped my head and sucked her nipple into my mouth and flicked it with my tongue, loving her whimpers and gasps.  She grabbed my head and her nails bit into my scalp.  I wrapped my arms around her, and laid her down on the bed.  She was rubbing her jean clad legs together.  I thrust one hand between them and she slammed her legs together, locking it in place.  Like I wanted it anywhere else.  I rubbed against the seam of her jeans, and licked at the tender flesh of her swollen breasts.
“So good.”  She sighed.
She arched up, but it wasn’t enough.  I pulled off her jeans and panties.  She was truly beautiful.
“Now you.”
“Huh?”
“Your boxers,” she said.
“Not yet.  First I want to play some more.”  The woman had legs that wouldn’t stop.  I couldn’t believe that she ever doubted her attractiveness.  Whoever had been her past lovers had been absolute assholes.
She reached out to me, and I lowered myself into her arms, kissing those plump lips of hers, reveling in the jolt she once again gave me as our lips met.  Having our bodies meet was bliss.  Her breasts touching my chest was heaven.  I dragged my chest hair against her nipples and she groaned.
“Again.  Do that again.”  I did.  Slowly I inched downwards, kissing silken flesh along my way.  Peaches.  I smelled peaches, until finally I smelled peaches and musk.  Divine.  Parting her thighs, I found glistening pink magic.  Allie tensed.
“Relax.”
“I am.”  Sure she was.
I pressed her legs wider apart, but it was a bit of a struggle. “Honey, I just want to play.”
“I know.”
“You like this, don’t you?”  I blew against her folds.
“I don’t know.”  Yep, she had only been with assholes.
I parted her slick flesh and licked her.  She shuddered, but didn’t make a sound.  Peaches, spice, and Allie.  So good.  I looked up, and she was biting the base of her thumb.  Oh that was a challenge.  Her body betrayed her, it showed me exactly what kind of touches it liked, and when I added my fingers, she started to pant.
Up and down, around and around.
“Declan?  Come inside me now.”
“Not until you scream.”
My fingers found what they’d been searching for, and she squeaked and tightened in a good way.  Carefully, I sucked.
“Declan!  It’s too good.”  She was drenched in pleasure.
Almost there.
I stroked inwards, and bit her clit gently, flicking my tongue against her swollen flesh.  She let out a shriek, and pulsed her release.
I moved up to the nightstand and ripped off my boxers.  I tore open the condom and looked at Allie.
“Please, now!”
Slowly, I entered her tight depths.  I thought I was going to lose my mind.  It was pure bliss.  Those long legs curled around me, and she pulled me in.
“More!”  I gave her everything.  She gasped, but then smiled.  “Perfect.”
“Thank God.”
I began to move, and she met me.  We danced and twined, moving ever upwards. I felt my orgasm begin at the base of my spine.  I wasn’t going to last.  That beautiful face, those eyes that shimmered.  I dipped in for another kiss that shot sparks.
“Allie?”  I was hanging on by a thread.
She thrust up against me, her heels digging into my ass.  I felt her sheath begin to tighten and I thought my head would explode.
This woman, this beautiful woman let out a joyful sound that was my name, over and over again.
“Yes, God yes, Allie.”
I shot ever upwards until I found heaven.

After years of being poor, hungry and dealing with her childhood demons, Marley Williams is on the verge of finalizing her training as a Psychiatrist, but one fateful hour of her life will take her sight off her goals and lead her down a path that will completely change her forever.

Max West is a young District Attorney who meets his match when the stubborn, resilient and elusive Marley wakes up at the hospital after being found unconscious outside the scene of a crime.

This is not your run of the mill romance or your usual courtroom drama.  We have a very high end sex club, a deviant psychopath, a very strong main character who’s used to get things on her own and a man who finds himself at a crossroads between his duty and his feelings.  All these elements make for a great story and, if you enjoy your romance wrapped in a lot of suspense, you’ll like it as much as I did.

The book is fast paced, well written and the author kept the mystery going until the very last page of the epilogue.

Review: One Step Closer by Kahlen Aymes

Blurb:
STEPSISTER. He hated that f*cking word.

When their parents got married, the only thing Caleb Luxan had in common with Wren Brashill was that they both hated their parents. When he was sixteen, Caleb discovered Wren's closely guarded secret and vowed to protect her: from that day forward she became the reason for every decision he made.

Jealousy and long-suppressed desire overpowered Caleb's fierce protectiveness and they spent one forbidden and unforgettable night in each other arms, but the aftermath left Caleb panicked, Wren heartbroken, and their relationship in shambles. In the time since that fateful night, he’d only seen her once and had only managed to make the situation even worse.

The sudden death of his estranged father calls Caleb home and face-to-face with Wren for first time in years. He is presented with a choice that forces him to confront the painful memories of his youth and his many regrets with Wren.

Like it or not, his father's last, hard lesson, will demand Caleb deal with his long denied emotions for Wren, or let go of her forever.

Step siblings falling in love is always taboo.  But once the parents divorce and or pass away, is it ok to fall in love?  Parts of One Step Closer I liked and the others I was disappointed.  However I did like Caleb. He was strong, protector, and kept Wren close to his heart.  Wren on the other hand, I didn't care for her.  She was weak. Drop of the hat, she cried.

Stepsister. A word that Caleb hated.  The once rocky start of his new step family that Caleb hated.  He hated his father and the stepford mother. But he had the need to protect his stepsister, Wren.   Even after their one special night, he kept tabs on her throughout the years.   But when his father passes away, they are reunited.   What obstacles are in their way?

Overall, One Step Closer was ok.  Just feel Wren could have been stronger heroine.  She was to emotional for me.

New Release: The Bound by K.A. Linde

screen-shot-2016-10-05-at-2-51-58-pm   tb-amazonCyrene Strohm is a Queen’s Affiliate, a high-ranking official of the court of Byern, with power and privilege to spare. But she’s also a keeper of dangerous secrets: like the fact that she holds the heart of the King, and that she possesses magic in a world where magic no longer exists. Determined to discover what this means and how to use her newfound abilities, Cyrene sets off for the distant land of Eleysia. An island nation where Affiliates are strictly forbidden from entering. But the journey is perilous, and the destination may mean utter ruin, as Cyrene comes to learn that everything she’s been told her whole life – about her court, her homeland, and even herself—are bound in a beautiful lie.

What in the Creator did I just read?!
The Bound picked up right where we left off in The Affiliate. Cyrene is on the quest to find out more about her magical powers. During the quest she finds out about herself and people who can help control her new magic. In this book we are introduced to some new characters. We also have our regulars from book one. I really enjoyed this book and the journey Cyrene went through discovering her new powers. Some of the revelations that came in this book had me gasping!! Back home in Byrene there is a lot of lies and deception going on!! The scandals are out of this world. This book was very captivating and I found myself not being able to put the book down. I wished we had more King Edric and   Cyrene time! After the last book I was hoping for more because I really enjoy the chemistry with these two. Prince Dean is nice but I'm on Team Edric. Let talk about the last few chapters!! After reading those chapter my jaw literally dropped. I was not expecting this and I honestly can't wait to see what direction Linde it going to take this series! I'm normally more of a romance fan and prefer her other books but this series has grown on me! So even if you are a romance buff like me please give it a shot!!

availablenow         Staggering down the hallway, she didn’t even look up when she heard her name. “Hmm?” she asked. “Cyrene, there you are!” Someone grabbed her shoulders, and she tipped her head to look up into the most beautiful face. She smiled and felt a renewed burst of energy flow through her. “Hey,” she whispered. “Hey,” he said, threading his fingers through hers. A shiver ran up her back. He glanced around the empty hallway and then tugged her away from the main corridors. She turned a corner, and he pressed her back into a darkened alcove. His mouth was only inches from hers. Her exhaustion was wearing off from the excitement of being with him. “I was really worried about you,” he breathed. “You don’t have to worry about me,” she said, trapped in his gaze. She teetered on her tiptoes and nearly brushed their lips together. Her heart was racing ahead of her. This felt almost better than reaching for her magic. Definitely better than moving one drop of water at a time all day. “You’re wrong.” Then, he softly dropped his mouth down on hers. His lips were tender and slow as they caressed hers. “I will always worry for your safety.” Cyrene’s cheeks heated, and she sighed, leaning back against the hard stone of the alcove. “I didn’t mean to worry you.” His hands pushed up through her hair and tilted her head back up to look at him. She closed her eyes and sighed. She was so tired, and just the feel of his fingers was lulling her to sleep. “That feels good.” His mouth found hers, and despite her exhaustion, she pushed back against his lips with more force. She refused to let the fact that she was tired get in the way of her time with him. “Whoa,” he said, pulling back from her. He rested his forehead against hers, and she could tell he was breathing heavily. “As much as I want this, and I do, I want to make sure you’re okay. This didn’t scare you away?” She shook her head. “This, most certainly, does not scare me.” Then, she kissed him again for good measure. He laughed. “Good. Because I’ve been wanting to kiss you since I first met you.” “You have not!” she insisted. “Are you kidding? A gorgeous, feisty woman who wasn’t afraid to put me in my place the first time she met me? I mostly certainly have.”     teaser3square1       ta-amazonThe Affiliate: Book 1 "With rich romance and twisty political intrigue, THE AFFILIATE is a breakneck fantasy ride that's perfect for fans of THE SELECTION or THRONE OF GLASS." --Susan Dennard, NYT bestselling author of TRUTHWITCH On the day of her Presenting, in front of the entire Byern Court, seventeen-year-old Cyrene Strohm's lifelong plans come to fruition when she's chosen for one of the most prestigious positions in her homeland--an Affiliate to the Queen. Review: Made To Suffer by Golden Czermak

Title: Made to Suffer
Series: Journeyman Series #3
Author: Golden Czermak
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: October 24
Add to your TBR: http://bit.ly/2dZhCYH

Synopsis:
The Adventure Continues
From author Golden Czermak, comes the third installment of the riveting Journeyman Series.

The Celtic Otherworld sits on the edge of a knife, threatening to fall into the waiting jaws of civil war. With the fate of the fourth artifact hanging in the balance,
can the Journeymen succeed in preventing such an atrocity from happening?

Complicating matters, the great demon Dajjal has finally made it to the Earth. Dispensing with niceties and formality, he asserts his dominance over the Noctis, their allies, and all other living things.

What hope do the worlds have for peace when they were Made to Suffer?

After doing my re read of the other books, I was so excited to start this book and it truly lives up to the the title. I was completely blown away!! Each book just keeps getting better and it sucks you in!!

Our Journeymen definitely have some tough times ahead. Dajjal is making everyone suffer and not thinking twice. No one is safe. This book is the heaviest of the series. I thought Czermak writing all came together in "Seal of Solomon" but he has outdone himself with this book. I honestly felt like I was along side the Journeymen. His description to detail is
INSANE!!  I could see everything playing out in my head. The journey we called life isn't an easy one and this book shows the ups, down, good, bad and how everything can change in the blink of an eye. I felt every emotion they felt and took several mental breaks to collect myself. I wanted to throw my iPad but remembered the cost. I cried and babbled to anyone who would listen. This book gutted me and not sure how I will make it through the rest of this journey.

Series after a while can become stale and redundant but Czermak doesn't have that problem at all! His addition of new characters has kept this series interesting and fresh. It has that new book yet familiar feeling while reading. I haven't read a Paranormal Series in years that have made me feel this way. So with that being said I'm packing my bags, gassing up my truck and heading along the Devil's Highway.

Lourdes Review:

The saga continues on this third book of the Journeyman Series.  The great demon Dajjal is now among the humans, the Order is trying to form alliances with monsters and creatures of the night alike to fight the Noctis and the Elves are on the verge of war over one of the Solomon Six.

The team has evolved by the addition of new members and find themselves being separated for the sake of different missions.  Relationships are changing as is everything else in the world of the Journeymen.

Again Golden has hit it out of the park by delivering a great adventure, with humor, romance and a lot of emotional conflict neatly packed in a fast pace, well produced story.  His attention to detail never falters and, in my book, he doesn’t disappoint.

I can’t wait to read the next installment and, on a personal note, this is my favorite book of the series to date.

Having been in the industry for at least four years, he has interfaced and networked with countless authors and other clients. As part of his work as a photographer, he worked with them to create book cover images - now numbering well over 250 at the beginning of 2016.

Review: Royally Screwed by Emma Chase

ROYALLY SCREWED
By Emma Chase
Release Day: October 18, 2016

Emma Chase, New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled Series & Legal Briefs Series, returns with the first of three sizzling standalone books about a family of racy, irresistible Royals.

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka “His Royal Hotness”, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant—hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

***
Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately—the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia—Nicholas is worth it.

***
Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is, but more importantly, who he wants to be: a King... or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

Olivia is a hard working no nonsense type of person. She is the glue that is keeping her family together. Prince Nicholas is heir apparent to the throne. The two collide when he comes to the best city ever (New York) and they get off on a rocky start but eventually they hit it off. I loved these two characters together. Even though they are both different social status wise, they both have a lot of pressure that comes from being the oldest. Olivia has been keeping the family's shop going after the mom dies and the father checks out emotionally. Nicholas is next in line for the throne and has a lot on his plate plus a younger brother who loves to misbehave.

“Some people go their whole lives without feeling that. We’ll get to have it for four months.”

“I love you, Olivia. I love you. And I don’t know how to do this. I don’t know how to let you go.”

Olivia and Nicholas are on borrowed time together and decide to enjoy the time they have with each other. I loved the interaction with these two! There was a lot of sexy, flirty and silly banter between the both of them. They each brought out different sides of each other and that was nice as well. But everything that glitters isn't always gold. A lot of people are rooting against them and they have an uphill battle to face!

"A woman’s weapons of mass destruction are indifference and confusion.”

I have to take the time to say how much I LOVED Franny!! Franny is married to Simon who is Nicholas's best friend. The way she took to Olivia and helped her out was endearing. She was sassy, fouled mouth and gave it to you straight, no chaser! I really hope we get to see more of her as the series goes on or maybe even a novella!

"Because I didn’t have you there with me. I love you, Olivia. I don’t need a kingdom—if you’re beside me, I already have the whole world.”

*Sighs*

If you're looking for a book that makes you smile and feel all giddy like a school girl, look no further. I loved everything about this book, the writing, the plot just everything. It had the perfect amount of romance, sex, funny times, and heart filled moments as well. Nothing was over the top which I really appreciated. The secondary characters were awesome and I felt like I was one of the bunch. This book left me with a huge smile on my face after reading. This was a fantastic start to a wonderful new series and I can't wait to get royally swept up again and again!!

Review: 27 Lies by MJ Fields

Blurb:

A long time ago...

I was young and naive. I thought I could save the world. I thought that protecting those around me from hurt and pain was what I was born to do. She made me feel that way. Ava Links, the little girl who was too fucking stubborn for her own good. The little girl who absorbed the hurt and pain of everyone around her and tried to bring sunshine to them all. The little girl who didn’t give a damn if people picked on her about wearing a crown and tutu every day. A little girl who somehow looked at me, expecting—no, damn near demanding—I protect her.

I saw the pain she hid, and as I grew older, I understood that pain. The pain of being so much to so many that there is really never a “you”.

I took control of my life...

I had to get away from everyone who pulled at me in order to claim myself. When I became the man I was destined to be, I began to live. Then, one drunken night, Ava Links, no longer a little girl, said the right damn thing to me, and everything changed. After seven years of fucking her while home on leave with no expectations, now my life is out of control…

One bad dream, one I love you, one night of pushing her the hell out of my life, one drummer stealing her heart, and one explosion took everything away.

Lies are told.
Lies are unraveling.
Lies are going to destroy.
These are my truths.

This book is not a flowing continuance to Ava’s story. It gives us small glimpses of the previous story from Luke’s POV and shows how he as well is grieving and suffering, in much need of physical and emotional healing.
Both Luke and Ava are broken, grieving each in their own way, both blaming themselves for things they are not guilty of and can’t be changed, but that’s life. This couple go through the process of accepting and learning to live with the losses in their lives, that love can be everlasting and ever changing, that not all love is the same and that one can find it more than once in a lifetime.
Luke has always loved Ava, but by pushing her away he changed both their destinies. She found a different kind of love in Tommy, but she never stops loving Luke. Then there’s the love they both have for the children and, of course, the lies told in the name of love.
In my opinion, this book didn’t have the gripping quality of the previous one, but in good MJ Fields’ fashion flows easily and tells a heartbreaking story that will make you cry and laugh and love her all the same.

4 stars

The King (Games We Play, #2)the-king Not all vampire hunters dress in head-to-toe leather and sit on rooftops overlooking a gritty vampire-ridden city. Meet Delia Roberts. At twenty-six, she’s a mid-level hunter with the Harriswood League, and, despite her best efforts, isn’t scaling the hunter hierarchy anytime soon. Months earlier, desperate to prove herself, Delia snuck into an exclusive vampire masquerade, only to wind up with a bite on her neck courtesy of clan leader and gorgeous vampire Claude Grimm. Fearful of the League’s punishment for succumbing to a bloodsucker’s charms, Delia does what she can to hide the bite and pretends the night never happened. These days, however, Claude is determined to win her over, insisting the spark they felt that fateful night is worth pursuing. As Delia tries to ignore her steadily growing feelings for the enemy and fend off a mounting quarter-life crisis, vampire clan tensions worsen around the quiet city of Harriswood, bringing with them a danger unlike any the League has ever seen. One that might change the course of history for good.

And what other followers of The Light were forced into this life, brainwashed to believe they belonged? The more she remembers, the mort it becomes clear that Jacob, the man who calls himself her husband, is keeping shattering secrets of his own.

But Sara cannot flee alone, leaving innocents behind. She must fight to extinguish The Light.

Shelly's Review:
This has been one of my anticipated releases of 2016. The book picks up right where we left off from Into The Light. A lot of questions got answered but my head was spinning. I have no idea where/how Romig gets these ideas. The way she told this story was amazing!! It had me on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought I had something figured out there would be a plot twist. I had no idea who to trust while reading. Romig knows how to write one heck of a suspense story. Everything just flowed and I couldn't put this book down once I started! This was the perfect conclusion to this series or was it.......
