One shot and she was gone forever.
One moment.
One decision.
I was no longer living.
Fading.
Dying.
My past and my present were stolen.
Lost.
Misled.
My heart was broken that day.
Damaged.
Shattered.
But Secondhand Hearts can be mended.
Treasured.
Loved.
Forgiven.

EXCERPT 1

~Kessler

Its just a kiss.
I recite her words silently, hoping to convince myself that theyre true because I jumped on the back of the point of no return.
Her sweet tongue runs along the seam of my lips seeking entrance. Any resolve I held slips away as I draw in a needed breath. Her tongue seizes the opportunity and quickly finds mine, the tip exploring with deliberate strokes that increase in tempo. Excitement spreads from each of my taste buds like embers from a wildfire jumping onto dry brushwood. It sparks a burn to the deepest layer of my body. My brain tells me to shut this down before it goes too far. Her lips are on mine.
Its just a kiss.
My hands of their own volition move from the edge of my seat and find her shoulders, unsure whether to draw her in or push her away. She shivers under the grip of my fingers. Our mouths find a rhythm that isnt desperate but intense, potent. I take my hands from her body and weave them through the silk threads of her hair. A moan escapes from her lips and I inhale as if I can breathe in the sound she makes—a keepsake for my memories. The smell of her, the taste of her, the feel of her intoxicates me and numbs any coherence I may have.
Its just a kiss.
With controlled, purposeful movement she wedges herself further into the space between my legs. A perfect fit. Her palms splay against my bare chest as she raises herself up on her knees to bring us closer together and align our bodies. She trails her fingers along my skin, leaving a wake of goose bumps in their path. One of her gentle but fevered hands travels up to my jaw and the other down the side of my ribs to my waist just inside the band of my shorts. A tug on my lip before she dips her tongue further into my mouth lets me know shes eager for more.
It’s just a kiss.
Trapping me in her arms, the lace of her bra teases me through her top. She pushes into me more so that her breasts rub against my sensitive nipples. The heat between her thighs causes my hips to rock into hers. There isnt a splinter of space between us, yet I want her closer. Lips, tongues and teeth collide, sucking and nipping to taste more. I want to sear her flavor onto my tongue and taste her every conscious moment. I accept her oral assault as my punishment.
It’s just a kiss.
A sample of something this incredible can only be my sentence for failing Jaina. I can never fall for Tavyn.
Already fallen…
This is not just a kiss.

EXCERPT 2

~Kessler

My lips are dry, so I drain the last few drops of Monster into my mouth. Using my tongue to coat my lips in that syrupy mixture of energy in a can, I feel Jais feathery brush of her lips against mineLike fresh strawberries, plump and sweet.Closing my eyes, I reach out for her
And then as fast as it came, its gone. The vision is no longer there. My body, my mind, emotions, everything is in an ugly tug of war.
Memories: 1 Me: 0
Im so fucking afraid. Ive lost more of those moments, and theres no way I can lose these memories too. But those memories remind me that Jais gone, allowing the darkest and blackest memory to wrap its unforgiving fingers around my heart. They squeeze so hard that I think I might bleed out. Andwhen I relinquish control and accept their grasps bidding, they release me, clapping and cheering with the hostile irony theyve created just for me.
My cheek against the cold concrete pulls me back to my reality, and I laugh. From exhaustion, from disbelief
I dont know.
Sweat from my workout coats my body and soaks into my clothes, creating a chill against my damp skin, so Ill stay awake and I continue to laugh hysterically. My legs curl up to my chest and Im on my side staring at a mark on the floor made by someones shoe. This makes me laugh harder.
Tears begin to fall from my tired eyes, so I swipe them away with one hand, trying to get them to stop, but more tumble out. They keep coming until it is one stream of salty liquid and I dont want them to stop anymore.
I wonder how long I can cry before the tears cease to fall? Can I cry myself to death?
My sounds are odd and strangled, getting louder and louder. I hope Jaina can see me here. That she sees what she has reduced me to and how pathetic I am.
BITCH! Can you hear me? Is this what you wanted? You win. Fuck you. Lets play a different game now. Ive got my two middle fingers waving in the air in a lame attempt to send her a signal of surrender or maybe its to say Fuck You.Either way its not what I really feel or really want her to know. I love you, baby. Come back and take me with you. Do you hear me? I said I fucking love you, but I hate you more.
I dont though.
I dont hate her.
I cant hate her.

Book Tour: Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan

Blurb
He told me to 'settle, girl.'  He asked if 'something was wrong with me?'  He said I was an ‘easy target.’  That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.  I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.
He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.
Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.
I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?
This is a story about a girl, her stepbrother and another guy who is the stepbrother’s complete opposite.  If it sounds like a cliché, I promise you it’s not.Summer is starting college and she’s going to the same college as Kevin, her stepbrother.  The small detail here? She’s had a crush on Kevin since HS, since before he became her stepbrot…
